Is it better to book a budget hotel or stay at a three-star? We asked two hotel industry insiders to make their case.
We asked the industry professionals from hotel brands Best Western Great Britain and Travelodge to explain the relative benefits of three-star properties versus budget hotel rooms. Here’s what they said…

A great-value hotel doesn’t mean compromising on comfort or service. Travelodge has recently completed a £100m modernisation programme to upgrade all of its UK hotels to a new, contemporary design. The rooms have been designed by business customers, and are inviting, functional, warm and relaxing. In addition, staff are on hand 24 hours a day to help ensure you have a great stay.
Our rooms offer everything a business customer needs for a comfortable trip. All rooms offer modern en-suite bathrooms with power showers, a luxurious king-size bed, Freeview TV, desk area with power points and complimentary tea and coffee. All hotels have Wi-Fi, while irons, ironing boards and hairdryers are available from reception.
