From traveller trends to wellbeing initiatives: Our most successful partner engagement event yet
22 July 2019
As part of Capita Travel and Events’ commitment to their ‘partners’, selected accommodation and travel providers, they held their successful engagement event in June.
Previously, this event had been held over one day, but to accommodate an ever-growing demand to attend the event was spread across two days.
The two-day event was held at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium and welcomed 50 representatives from across hotel groups, rail and air partners such as Virgin Trains and Emirates through to Cabfind and Accor hotels. Partners attended individual appointments with account managers for valuable insight into customer requirements and further landscapes.
Specialist experts from Capita Travel and Events ran a series of workshops covering booking trends, wellbeing and Smarter working, industry impacts and future technological developments.
“Our partners are highly valuable to us and ensure we offer the best possible service to our customers and stay ahead in the marketplace. Equally, by voicing the issues of our customers to the supply chain we can help drive customer strategies and so the supply chain can remain relevant and innovate,” explained Lindsey James, Head of Partner Management.
“This was our 7th Partner Engagement Day and our most attended to date. It’s all about optimising interaction and engagement with our key partners and customers, providing specialist insight and sharing knowledge. It is great to see it grow year on year and, more importantly, for our partners to come away with ideas, particularly for the travellers’ wellbeing agenda, that will ultimately have a positive impact on our customer experience and make headway in the industry as a whole.”
Partners came away feeling inspired and wanting to implement more wellbeing initiatives:
“It was a really useful day to understand the partnership, where Capita are putting their efforts into and how we can work closer together. One of the main takeaways from the day is that delegate welfare is now the highest priority for event bookers, so I’ve arranged a meeting with the FA and their welfare department to discuss putting some further objectives in place. From this, I believe we’ll have a further solidified product for the industry.”- Michael Simmons, Wembley Stadium.
The Partner Engagement Day happens once a year. The next event is scheduled for February 2020. For more information on becoming one of our partners, please visit our supplier network page and complete a become a partner web form.
