Chief Technology Officer appointed

hot off the press typewriter

We are continually reviewing our organisation both in response to the pandemic and alongside wider market changes. One of the main developments of 2021, accelerating trends underway before the pandemic, is the accelerating focus of the central role played by technology products and solutions shaping our markets. This year has seen both major acquisitions by technology-led businesses such as TripActions and Travelperk – alongside continued investment from tech players, TMC’s and Meetings and Events specialists.

We’ve built a business where specialist products and services have been designed and built to serve our markets, and we need to continue to put those decisions at the heart of what we do. As a result, we are elevating the role of product design, development, and delivery into its own function, led by a Chief Technology Officer sitting on the executive team. As a business that recognises talent within, we are pleased to announce that Carl Law (previously, Director of Business Solutions) has been appointed to take on this new role. Carl has played a significant role in the business since joining us as part of the NYS acquisition in 2017 leading our investment in travel and meetings technology. This is a natural step in that journey. Carl will join the Agiito executive team as CTO effective immediately.

Carls initial focus is to ensure that we have both a clear technology product strategy, the investment identified needed to execute and the skills to do so, a fundamental part in our overall strategy for Agiito. Operational IT, alongside data analytics, governance and corporate responsibility will remain under the remit of our CIO, Sam Hart, with both Carl and Sam working seamlessly to deliver our digital transformation.
