Our people win at Business Travel People Awards 2021

air guitar awards celebration

Our people were winners at last night’s Business Travel People Awards 2021, winning the Meetings & Events Manager of the Year and Change Champion Leader categories!

We were up for a record 11 categories at the awards – the highest amount we have ever been nominated for and greater than any other organisation attending.

Organising approximately 700 events since joining NYS seven years ago, Jadene Cook is one of our world-class Events Managers whose solutions-focused, creative-thinking and proactive nature not only is popular with our customers but also scooped her the ‘Meetings & Events Manager of the Year’ award.

Katie Blount, Head of Business Change & Communications, redesigned the communication methods and strategy with new wellbeing campaigns that have kept our people updated and motivated when we were the furthest apart. It was these never-attempted-before initiatives that has given our internal engagement such a boost and secured her a well-deserved ‘Change Champion Leader’ award.

Our CEO, James Parkhouse, was also Highly Commended in the ‘Industry Contribution’ category and Implementation Manager, Molly Winterton, was also Highly Commended as this year’s ‘Rising Star’.

One of the first live award ceremonies for our sector in 2021, the well-established Business Travel People Awards is one of the most prestigious industry awards that has recognised the outstanding individuals and teams within business travel for over a decade.

The 15 winners were announced at the live ceremony, held on 15 September 2021 at London Hilton Bankside.

The last 18 months have been the most challenging for all of us in the travel, meetings and events industries, and I feel very honoured to be highly commended by peers, friends and colleagues for my work supporting both our business and the wider industry during this time. I’m proud that we have received industry recognition in different areas of our business, from our meetings and events specialists to the way we approach positive change and prioritise employee wellbeing. The fact that we received the most nominations than any other business at the awards is a testament to our talented people and the tenacity they have shown during such a tough year.

James Parkhouse, CEO of Agiito.

It has been a privilege to work with Jadene over the last few years and watch her develop into the skilled professional that she is today. The last 18 months have been the most difficult time for our industry and yet every day Jadene has shown up with a positive attitude, a smile on her face and ready to tackle whatever challenges are thrown in her path. I am genuinely delighted that she has won this award, she absolutely deserves it!

We are also finalists in the upcoming C&IT Awards and M&IT Awards – wish us luck!
